Question/Discussion

  • 00:54:20 · Capt Quark asks: “From what I understand, Goldsrc engine did not have the ability to show true reflective mirrors (for example, the bathroom mirrors were always grayed out). When HL2 was released, mirrors were still rendered this way. Even in L4D. Why? Is this a limitation of the engine itself?”

  • Emanuel and I think you kicked us out of the call so you could share all the glor yourselves. Sorry I forgot to send a recording of my new poll question.

  • Nighthawk says:

    Nice show.

I completely agree with your analysis at the end about mirrors, where it’s not a technical limitation or speed concern, but one of immersion. This is exactly the same reason they never do cut-scenes with the view leaving first person.

  • Joe says:

I think this podcast was better.

    There, I said it.

And Strider Mountain was a let-down.
